    REAL SMOKED 'LOW & SLOW' BBQ

    BBQ catering is equal parts art and passion. Texas, Memphis, Kansas City and the Carolinas each claim they know how to do BBQ best. We love all kinds of BBQ. It is low temp, slow going and our California hardwood smoke, leaves the meat with a unique and delicious flavor.

     

    All of our meats are hand selected for quality and flavor. They are sourced from local farmers, partners that we know and trust. Our beef, pork, chicken and game are all free-range and organic never having been treated with any anti-biotics, medications or hormones.

     

    We serve all of our BBQ with a sweet & spicy Memphis style molasses BBQ sauce, a mustard & vinegar-based Carolina gold sauce and our famous homemade spicy pickles. If real pit style, smoked BBQ catering is what you’re looking for, search no further. You found us.

    SMOKED BEEF BRISKET & TRI-TIP

    In Texas everyone agrees beef is what should be on the menu. That is pretty much where the agreement ends. Our beef is rubbed with spices and roasts low & slow over hardwood coal until it is juicy and tender.

    PORK RIBS & BEEF RIBS

    WE LOVE RIBS. Racks of baby backs, glazed spare ribs, braised short ribs and brontosaurus sized beef ribs -we love them all. This is why we do this! Let us share our passion for perfect ribs with you.

    ROASTED FREE-RANGE CHICKEN

    Beer can chicken, lemon-pepper wings, herb rubbed, smoked & whole roasted birds; everyone loves chicken. We recommend adding some to nearly every cookout to ensure all guests are happy & well fed!

    ROASTED & SMOKED PORK SHOULDER

    In the South when someone says BBQ, they mean pork that's been slow roasted & smoked. If tender fall apart pork is what you have in mind, our roasted & smoked pork shoulder is what you should choose.

    BARBECUE SANDWICHES

    Whether your BBQ is beef, pork or chicken, one of our favorite ways to eat it is on a BBQ sandwich. We use local Kaiser rolls topped with cabbage slaw or spicy pickles and a touch of your favorite BBQ sauce.

    We work with local makers to bring the very best sausages to the grill & smoker. From traditional to custom spice blends, sausage elevates the meal and is a great way to take any cookout to the next level.

    HOW WE HANDLE SERVING SIDES

    More than 24 hours before your cookout begins, we start the cooking process with marinades and dry rubs. We fill the smoker with our favorite hardwoods and prepare for the long night of cooking ahead. These flavor decisions go a long way to defining the overall style and flavor of your upcoming meal.

     

    Every Reel & Ranch cookout includes 2 gourmet side dishes paired perfectly to compliment your BBQ catering. In addition, we offer a wide variety of premium sides that can be added on to any meal.

    We have been BBQ catering for a long time. After many cookouts, we have learned that each one is a little different. We all have different tastes, different visions and different needs. For most cookouts, we present meals in a serve yourself ‘better-than-buffet’ style.  Action stations are attended by chefs who can help serve, suggest & answer questions while guests select what they want from the offerings displayed.

     

    Are we missing something? Want to make a modification? If you have something else in mind – that’s great! We love to be creative and love to collaborate. Let’s hear your ideas. It’s very likely that we can make it happen!

    How much does a smoked BBQ cookout really cost?

    Cookouts vary in price depending on season, how many people will be fed, what types of items or additional courses are selected, and a few other site and service-related factors. In order to ensure we are giving you the best & most accurate pricing possible we should talk specifics, let's chat!

    What kind of area or space is needed to host a smoked BBQ cookout?

    We have found, where there is a will there is a way. We use a variety of set-ups and cooking techniques to pull off a great cookout in nearly any venue or cooking area. For an ‘On-site’ cookout an open outdoor cooking area is required. Depending on the venue our team can help determine if an ‘On-site’, ‘Catered’, or Hybrid style cookout would work best for properly catering you event.

    How far in advance should I reserve my date?

    Wedding receptions and other large events typically book 6-12 months in advance. Smaller cookouts book a bit closer to the event date. Weekends, holidays and other popular dates often book quickly… some more than 12 months out. If you want to plan a cookout, we should talk ASAP. The more time we have to plan the better! Reach out today to discuss possibilities and availability!

    What happens if it rains on the day of my event?

    Reel & Ranch cookouts are typically rain or shine events. This is real slow food catering and once we get started it is impossible to stop the process. Thankfully here in Southern California a whole day of rain is something we don’t often need to worry about. Our cooking and service areas are covered and do just fine in case of any passing sprinkles!

    Does every cookout include a free 'first taste' or 'last bite'?

    At all 'On-site' cookouts we prepare both a special first taste while the food is being prepared and also a sweet dessert bite to say, ‘Thank you,’ once the meal is through! For 'Catered' cookouts, hosts choose either a first taste -or- last bite. 'Drop-off' cookouts are yummy and convenient but are not particularly conducive to serving first taste or last bite courses so neither are included.
