    FIRE UP THE GRILL, WE'RE COOKIN' OUT!!

    Friends and families are firing up the grill each and every weekend in backyards all across America. Perfect as an add-on for any other cookout & great stand-alone option in its own right, this classic American barbecue grill cookout is a crowd pleaser that is perfect for any occasion.

     

    Fully customizable, all of our grilled meats are hand selected for quality and flavor. They are sourced from local farms that we know and trust. It is all free-range and has never been treated with any anti-biotics, medications or hormones. All of our USDA Prime beef is grass fed & corn finished. This is the ultimate cookout grill catering.

    RIB-EYE, N.Y. STRIP & FILET MIGNON

    Prime steakhouse cuts seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic. We cook to MEDIUM unless specified and serve all meat rested & sliced with a selection of Cabernet wine, wild mushroom and hollandaise sauces.

    SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE

    Any kind of shellfish on the barbie really! The local bounty of fresh seasonal seafood means we can take about any fresh catch on throw it on the wood fire grill. We bring all the garlic & herb drawn butter.

    GRILLED FREE-RANGE CHICKEN

    Beer can chicken, lemon-pepper wings, herb rubbed and wood-fire grilled. Everyone loves chicken. We recommend adding some to nearly every cookout to ensure all guests are happy & well fed!

    HAMBURGERS & HOT DOGS

    Our patties are hand formed from USDA prime steak trimmings. Our dogs are all beef with no filler. We cook 'em on the grill or on the flat top and serve Kaiser & potato rolls with all the fixin's.

    EVERY KIND OF SHISH KABOB

    We skewer large chucks of seasoned meats with fresh garden vegetables and grill them over hardwood charcoal. Ribeye, chicken, sausage, and shrimp all pair perfectly well in any combination.

    BAJA'S BEST CARNE ASADA

    To be a great SoCal cookout you 100% need to have some carne asada! We grill seasoned skirt and flap steak and slice it on tacos or on torta sandwiches with our signature jalapeno-garlic chimichurri & fresh lime.

    HOW WE HANDLE SERVING SIDES

    More than 24 hours before your cookout begins, we start the cooking process with seasonings, marinades and dry rubs. These flavor decisions go a long way to defining the overall style and flavor of your upcoming meal.

     

    Every Reel & Ranch cookout includes 2 gourmet side dishes paired perfectly to compliment your cookout grill catering. In addition, we offer a wide variety of premium sides that can be added on to any meal.

    FANCY POTATO SALAD

    pan-roasted fingerling potatoes with paprika, lemon, dill, creme fraiche and California caviar.

    FIRE GRILLED CORN-ON-THE-COB

    Sweet summer corn grilled over California hardwood, sea salt, black pepper and plenty of butter.

    TRIPLE CREAMED SPINACH

    Sour cream, chevre, Parmesan and black pepper, with -or- without crumbled bacon & diced tomatoes.

    ASPARAGUS WITH HOLLANDAISE

    Baby spears grilled with egg yolk, melted butter lemon juice, sea salt and white pepper.

    PANZANELLA SUMMER SALAD

    Chopped greens with toasted artisan bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, parmesan, EVOO and red wine vinegar.

    PESTO PASTA SALAD

    Chilled bow tie pasta with fresh basil, garlic, parmesan, red pepper flake, sea salt and olive oil.

    We have been cookout grill catering for a long time. After many cookouts, we have learned that each one is a little different. We all have different tastes, different visions and different needs. For most cookouts, we present meals in a serve yourself ‘better-than-buffet’ style.  Action stations are attended by chefs who can help serve, suggest & answer questions while guests select what they want from the offerings displayed.

     

    Are we missing something? Want to make a modification? If you have something else in mind – that’s great! We love to be creative and love to collaborate. Let’s hear your ideas. It’s very likely that we can make it happen!

    How much does a Grillin' & Chillin' cookout really cost?

    Cookouts vary in price depending on season, how many people will be fed, what types of items or additional courses are selected, and a few other site and service-related factors. In order to ensure we are giving you the best & most accurate pricing possible we should talk specifics, let's chat!

    What kind of area or space is needed to host a Grillin' & Chillin' cookout?

    We have found, where there is a will there is a way. We use a variety of set-ups and cooking techniques to pull off a great cookout in nearly any venue or cooking area. For an ‘On-site’ cookout an open outdoor cooking area is required. Depending on the venue our team can help determine if an ‘On-site’, ‘Catered’, or Hybrid style cookout would work best for properly catering you event.

    How far in advance should I reserve my date?

    Wedding receptions and other large events typically book 6-12 months in advance. Smaller cookouts book a bit closer to the event date. Weekends, holidays and other popular dates often book quickly… some more than 12 months out. If you want to plan a cookout, we should talk ASAP. The more time we have to plan the better! Reach out today to discuss possibilities and availability!

    What happens if it rains on the day of my event?

    Reel & Ranch cookouts are typically rain or shine events. This is real slow food catering and once we get started it is impossible to stop the process. Thankfully here in Southern California a whole day of rain is something we don’t often need to worry about. Our cooking and service areas are covered and do just fine in case of any passing sprinkles!

    Does every cookout include a free 'first taste' or 'last bite'?

    At all 'On-site' cookouts we prepare both a special first taste while the food is being prepared and also a sweet dessert bite to say, ‘Thank you,’ once the meal is through! For 'Catered' cookouts, hosts choose either a first taste -or- last bite. 'Drop-off' cookouts are yummy and convenient but are not particularly conducive to serving first taste or last bite courses so neither are included.
